Data servers usually require someone in house (like an MIS director or
the equivvalent) that can offer some sort of immediate response if any
problems arise. So first you need personnel budget.
Then you need lots of data. I think that once you get beyond a gigabyte
of data, you should really consider an upgrade, although you may alos
consider traffic. 250 MB of data where 90% it used/processed regularly
could be considered about the same as a gig where 20% is reguarly used.
Last is security. If you want strict control of access to data, you
really need a server. Foxpro relies heavily on either network security
(which in many ways is all or nothing) or encryption. There's no
inherent security in FoxPro
