1. Yes... SQL Server not only stores the data, it also stores a transaction log associated with it. There is also a minimum size setup for the database.
2. If you are loading an ADO recordset with 87000 records in VB, you cannot compare that with VFP native data access. (Apples and Oranges)
3. There are numerous threads you can find here that discuss this in great detail. Suffice it to say that VB is Microsoft's own and Foxpro is not.
