It's probably a version issue with VPM. What version did you do the project in? And what are they selling today?
It's not an easy switch between the backends when you were using tables and then going to views. If you were using local views it's a lot easier but not perfect.
Watch out for key generation and anything that is in the DBC as a stored procedure.
If VPM doesn't do it, I use the Mere Mortals and it's designed just for this switch.
