Johnny,
I would like to ask you a question. How much do you think hosting an application such as this really costs ? I can tell you from my experience that it does not cost more than $5,000.00 per year.

How many PUTM members are there. If there are 100 (which is low in my estimation) then that is around $6500.00 US. That is plenty to fund this site.

My guess is that the site is so slow because of the quantity of eye candy that can be found here on the site. While its a nice feature to show everyones mug shot and flag what is there real use. They are nothing but bandwidth hogs.

Enough hits a day and these little images cost alot. Also how about the little refresh dialog running the left hand corner. Is this really necessary can't people hit refresh themselves. Who really cares that two new messages came up during your session ??

As for the price. Michel charges fees for advertising here. If that is nut sufficient to pay for the site then something is wrong. This site is alive and well because of its members not because of Michel and the server he has running somewhere in the world. Which is why in my estimation you are WRONG about making people pay for this site. Michel should be making money off the advertisers and not off the backs of members that contribute here.

This is precisely why the www.foxforum.com and fox.wikis.com sites are free. Steve and I fund these two sites ourselves as we both feel we should. We may sell advertising later on but for now these sites remain open to the world for a low low price of FREE!

There are hundreds of message boards out there that provide similar services as this one and they are Free as well. Why shouldn't this one ?????/
