John,

>Walter, this is not supposed to be a social welfare program.

Isn't it ? Isn't the goal of this site to provide technical support, for everyone who needs it ?

>If you feel that strongly about it, put your money where your mouth is and write Michel a check to make the necessary improvements.

First of I did not get the message that money was the real problem. I thought that the where some technical problems which are beeing solved. Second, I'm not a millioniare, and if I was, I really like to know what michel is gooing to do with it. Maybe he books a fine vacation on the carabian with my money. If michel has financial problems running this site, we talk again.

>As somebody who is NOT a PUTM member, you really should not express an opinion on why others should fund folks not willing to pay.

Why not ??? I can't really see any reason ! You're saying you don't pay, so you must keep your mouth shut. By my knowledge your not paying either. Sorry, but according to the rules of the UT, i've got every right to do so! I'm merely pointing out why it could not be wise to do so.

>Let's not put the UT on the same par as solving the problems of world-hunger.

Let's not forget the world is larger and wider than the US. It's pretty hypocritic to pretend there are no people out there who have financial problems, and cannot pay for the UT. Excluding them seems just not fair to me.

>The MS newsgroups are free and open to everybody. MS is one of the biggest companies on the planet. They can afford to underwrite that endeavor. The same is not true here....

Wasn't the UT support to all people a major reason to continue the MVP program ?? By closing it less people can contact MVPs for support.
