>>Lucky you :) - you always lived in the country with the high living standards and a wide range of possibilities.
>>I believe the many others know what I am talking about. :)

>Hold the phone Nick... do not lay that on my shoulders. You were the one who brought up the analogy, not me. It was totally inappropriate. And this veiled shot at me is equally inappropriate. I am very sensitive to what is going on in the outside world. And yes, I am appreciative of the fact that I live in a country where I have options. However, it was the circumstances of my birth. Like others, I had no control over the circumstances. I count myself very lucky. And, I feel very badly about the poor souls of the world that have not been as fortunate as others. To even suggest that I am the "ugly american" is so far off base. You have no business making statements like this. I don't care if you appoligize or not. As far as I am concerned, you can take your comments and stick them up your ass sideways. They don't apply whatsoever....

And you once told me to lighten up. Geez. As far as I can tell, Nick's remark wasn't directed at you. There's no "veiled" personal attack that I can spot. It is perplexing to see you twist things like this. I can see you don't respond well to other people's views. You're the one who initiated this thread, eliciting other people's opinions on things. That doesn't mean you have to be nice about it, but for goodness' sake, loose the grudge.

>Personally, I do not have a problem with slow UT responce with my dial-up connection (with Sprint) from Halifax, and I have to read much more messages a day than most of UT members. Please don't forget that there are ISP and overall Internet traffic problems, before jumping into conclusions about lack of everything on one end.

>What are you saying Nick???? Clearly I am not the only one seeing this. You guys managing this have yet to make an official statement of what is going on, other than to panhandle for funds by tapping the premier membership. I suspect the issue may be the ISP. If that is the case, then get a new ISP, it is done all of the time. I don't beleive this this is an overall Internet problem. If it something that is specific to your region, then here is a news flash, host the site somewhere else to get out of the bottlenecks. You are not talking to an novice here... I got a 1.6mb pipe and it sometimes takes 20 seconds or so for a message to fully display. Give me a break...

Yeah yeah we know you know. Besides, there's been only two times I can remember that UT response time was unacceptable.
