i have developed a solution to that, i have a customer
registration file (no need to recompile for each customer),
with 2 (1 visible & 1 invisible) passwords embeded and
keyed to the customer registration information. and a
drop dead date to control misuse of license if a time
limit is desired on use of package.....

i have used it for several years now, and seems to be
working quite well..
