Maybe it's just that I don't know how much work goes into this, but I don't see why should I pay UT to read the messages, if I was paying it to the people who are answering my questions, then it would make sense to me. I mean the fee is close to that of some electronic magazines, and UT is just storing not doing the writing or actually answering questions, $100 it's not a lot of money on it's own, but I feel it's charging for other people's work.
To me a better solution is a lower membership cost, I'm sure most regulars would pay a $20 dollar fee, that's a big step down I know, but come on UT is just hosting, besides there's still money coming from sponsors.
I guess it all depends on how many people stick around long enough and visit regularly without becoming PUTM, if there's a lot of us, a lower fee wouldn't be a bad idea, Michel would have to do the math, more memberships at a lower price or less at a higher one.
Then again all of this is crap if the people in charge of the UT dedicate too much time to not make a profit out of it :).

>Why? I would like to know if you found this site, and saw the $15 dollar fee, would you write the check before using it, which would no longer be an option? I wouldn't, put I'm trying to figure where other people are coming from.

>Michel runs this place like a user, because he is a user. He doesn't run it like MS or another very large coprpoation would, which I find very refreshing. Sometimes it gets him into trouble with the more business orientated thinkers, but you can't please everybody all of the time.
