>We're using VFP 5.0a. Form #1 has a text box. In the lostfocus, if the user enters a value then it calls the click of a command button, which in turn calls another form. The users are doing heads-down data entry, and of course they continue typing while the new form is loading. Occasionally, the first character is lost and not displayed in the first field on the second form, but subsequent characters are. The TYPEAHEAD is set to 128. Any ideas?

A couple of thoughts. One, you might give an audio clue to the user that processing is taking place, a beep or something. Second, Instantiate the second form from a class and have it in memory all the time. You can then make it visible when needed and this should be very fast.
