>After the user goes into form #2 the first time, it is kept in memory until the user completely exits out of form #1, and they are able to go back and forth repeatedly. The problem is that the users don't know when this is happening and haven't really given us enough information to know where to start looking. But even so, shouldn't the characters stay in the buffer and then be placed onto the second form once it's ready to accept input? I'm leaning towards the idea that they just aren't keying the information in properly, but unfortunately that's not a very popular answer.

Hmm ... well, I don't know the answer about the keystrokes staying in the buffer. Since you're changing forms, I don't have any experience with what happens to the buffer during the changeover. Yeah, usually not very popular to suggest DOE. :-) You might get with the users and watch as they demonstrate the problem. It might give you a little more insight into it. Assuming you can't track down the exact cause or come up with a hidden workaround, you can, again, suggest adding an audio cue so they know something is happening, or ask them for input on whta they would like in this scenario. You might also use some of the Debug options like Debugout as you test to try to determine what is happening to the keystrokes. Sorry for the rambling, just trying to think of possibilities to stimulate your thinking to look from different angles. Let me know what you find out.
