Thanks for the tip, which works fine if I'm in the form and change the First combo box. But to be more specific it's in the during the init when I get the Record out of range error.

Here's the scenerio:
(sources are views)

1. I instantiate a edit form from double click an item on a grid.
during the Init of the edit form I requery the source of list 1
(List 1 controlsource is a column of the view behind the grid.)
2. Then I requery the source of list 2.
(List 2 controlsource is a different column of the view behind the grid
and the rowsource is the row in the view used in list 1 )

First time everything is fine. I save and close the editform.

Second time to this form from another row of the grids (which has few children)

The error occurs during the refresh of list 2.
From what I can see with debug the ListIndex value is still the value from the previous edit. The listcount is the same from the previous edit. Attempts to programmatically set ListIndex still results in an error.

Do I have to close the two views when I close the form? Will that work? I'll try that but If you see anything obvious that I'm missing let me know if you feel like it.
