>> Michel put Fox on the net long before Rick Strahl ever did.
So what? First but stuck, or so it appears to me. Strahl has done far more for Fox on the net in a shorter time...
I suspect Rick Strahl is becoming rich very fast, and well he should: Rick Strahl is a giver. Everything he does generates value for everyone. He's not concerned with collecting chickenfeed annual fees from those he helps. He gives it away and, no surprise, what goes around...
Your point about banners is good except for this: most users here have no rights, and using this site is actually a piss-off -- in addition to it being slow. Advertisers here are supporting a forum that, for the most part, piss most people off because of disabled features. How this fact escapes current advertisers is beyond me.
Clearly selling memberships to a few whilend pissing off most is no key to sucess. Duh, let's keep doing it, while touting obvious infrastructure needs and features that should have been invested-in long, long ago. I just don't get it. Like you say, it's not being run as a serious business.
In this rapidly changing industry, the UT seems stuck. Financially the UT probably generates what a card shop in a mall does. Too bad. It should be a rocket.
