Hi Melissa

I agree that some folks legitimately cannot afford to pay. There are those, however, who can and don't. The UT will need more revenue to accomodate increases in capacity and it's just not right to increase the membership fees of those who do pay to subsidize those who can afford to pay, but don't.

I have suggested that PUTM fees be dramatically reduced for two reasons:

[1] More folks will be able to handle $20 than $100 which will result in more people paying less and, probably higher revenues.

[2] It would be easier to sponsor those who legitimately cannot afford to pay.

Under these conditions, I would be more than happy to sponsor a few people who cannot afford to pay.

My problem is with those who can, but don't - the Takers, DeadBeats, FreeLoaders or whatever you want to call them.

For the UT to continue to provide this service for the Fox community, it needs money. There is no way around it. Unless Michael can raise enough money from banner income, he has to charge for memberships.

Let me ask you a question: If you could afford a PUTM membership, would you pay it? - $20, $50, $75, $100?

>No actually you haven't. All you have done is people pissed off enough to where their feet are now walking towards other forums. I am now seriously considering this myself because the quality of this forum has degraded with all these posts on this issue and the weasel issue of past weeks which have driven spikes into the community nature that once existed in this forum. Why can't some of you understand that many of the "deadbeats" cannot afford to pay that much money in one lump sum? It is not up to you to be judge and jury of other people's lives and finacial situations.
