Speaking as someone who does not have a credit card and never will again. I can tell you that in general, from LA heading east the only places you will see alot of credit cards is Hawaii, Japan, Hongkong and Taiwan until you reach NewYork. When we first bought the PUTM here, the company paid for it, however for me alone it would be a major inconvenience just getting UT the money, not to mention 100 Canadian is about what I pay for rent in a month. This doesn't apply to me but the Bangkok Post advertizes for VFP programmers with two years experience paying the equivalent of about 400US per month. To a Thai, PUTM would be like making one car payment if you owned a Linclon Navigator. Beg's the question: Why not make the fee about 20% of your monthly gross salary. That way it would be fair to everyone in the world. Also, if I continue to pay, can we get rid of the adds? Another question would be, how many non-paying participants contribute more dialogue and free code than paying members and is that worth anything to this community? This debate also reminds me of the row over freebies having access to the files section. Back when everyone was crying about equal rights for non-paying members. When we signed up, one of the reasons was to get into the libraries and the other was the UT browser. It seems now there is no difference between paying and not? Another thing comes to mind. The PUTMs on this thread seem to be speaking as if they are stockholders in some public utility, if so, can we see the books?
