>I was absent from the Web for several weeks. Just came back and saw your message. How are you doing with your printing? I thought I had everything figured out until my boss said that we have to move the paper to the first printing position before printing begins. Our users are not very bright generally and he (the boss) thinks they will not be able to line up forms without this visual clue. This of course is a challenge and I might just throw windows printing out the window.

Hi Calvin:

I, too, have been away from UT for some time. Well, our large form printing is not any further along. One of the other members of the team is planned to take it on, and he hasn't done much yet. He did try re-compiling the existing FP-DOS-2.6 stuff and running it under VFP, and he managed to get output, but hasn't yet tried it using one of the pre-printed forms. In the meantime, one of the others on the team wants some time to try scanning in the forms with something like Omnipage which can convert it into a Word template, and them he would drive it with OLE automation to fill in the blanks, and suppress the form itself. They have both experimented with doing their ideas manually, but neither has created anything that looks like production code with the kind of volumes of output I anticipate. So, IOW: Not much so far.

I still promise to post our results and progress when there is something worth reporting.

Thanx for asking.

Rob
