>You can COPY TO...TYPE FOX2X to force VFP to write a backwards-compatible DBF as long as you are not using any of the new data types in the table. Older versions of the Office suite do not understand the newer DBF headers (FoxPro 2.x doesn't either...)

If your going to copy to a different file type, you just as well COPY TO...TYPE XL5.
