>Mark,
Is it the table that is readonly or the view or query of the table that is readonly. If you are using queries, they are by default readonly. So are local views. If it is a local view, you can set the update properties visually in the view designer or through the CURSORSETPROP() function.

Mike
It is the table that is read only. The tables are created using the query screen and the query destination is set to a table. When i then try to use the table in another query and i have to change a value to match up to the other tables definition, it wont allow me to modify the table unless i go and create a new database and then bring in the table and modify it there.
thanks for your help

>Hello all,
> Im working with stand alone tables mostly and i try to modify them and it says read only. When i use explorer it says the file is marked archive. If i start a new database and take a table into that it will let me modify the table defintion but when i go back into the program after exiting foxpro it will be read only again. Most of the tables im working with are created with query's. Ive only been working with foxpro for one week now, so i know i must be missing something here. Im working with visual foxpro 6.0 and have sp3 patch installed. Thanks for any help
