Are the tables included in the project? If so, they'll be read only when you run the application. Be sure to mark them as excluded (even if they appear in the Project Manager).

The tables are stand alone. They come from our catalog and retail divisions, i bring them into foxpro as stand alone tables and create queries from them and the query destination is set to table. But these tables need to be modified and the only way i know how to do it is to start a new db and bring the table into the database and then it allows me to modify it.
