You can use an AS400 database as an ODBC server and write straight through to the AS400, or you can purchase any of several 5251 emulator products that have programmable interfaces and talk via a set of API calls and interact with either a terminal app or any of several IBM-support AS400 APIs. It largely a katter of what the crew on the AS400 will permit you to do, and what PC communications products they have now.
