"Load event" = code ro use before the object be created.
"Init event" = code to use after the object be created, but isn't visible already.
"Activate Event" = code used when the object is activated (good to run code with forms, when you release one form and automatically run code on the form under her).
I agree with Neil, "Init event" should solve your problem.
But, you have also another choice. Read about LOCKSCREEN at the manual. It's also a good choice.
