This sounds like one of many problems addressed in the Service Pack that involved memory errors and printer drivers.
The odds are that not all users have the same or equivalent pritner drivers installed, and the differences in system behavior are either driver dependent or differences in how the printers are defined through the user's Windows Printer configuration
