I have come to understand that even though a view can be indexed, this is not practical for the application either, because the index, by nature of a view, must be created at runtime. Is the only practical way to include information in a search grid from child tables to de-normalize and base the grid on the parent table instead of a view? Speed is of much greater importance than table size.
