Hi Nancy,
Sorry if I wasn't clear on my discription. I have 3 computers one at home one at work and one portable. I may be working on something on any one of the three as I get a chance. So what I need to do is to keep the most recent copy of files in certian directories on all three computers as I use them. I have to skip around so much that I forget to update something somewhere sometimes. Sometimers I think it's called :,)... I thought that the easy way might be to carry a table on a floppy and compare what was most recent on the other two and perhaps copy the files to a temp dir then zip them to floppies...

>Do you see what I mean? You talk about maintaining the table on the computers, but also mention that you will be the one using the information.

>>What I am trying to do is take the files located say in C:\My Documents and all the subdirectories under that and store the name, date, size, attrib, and netid with ADIR() and using the registry for the netid for each computer that I work on. Then when I go to work on say my couputer at home I can tell where the most recent copy of a file is by comparing the files in the table. I figure it is easier to carry around the table on a floppy then zip the files needed across disks and then update another computer. I want to maintain the database on each computer and update it from the floppy. Any suggestions will help as I don't have a crystal clear picture of how to do this yet.
