>>>It seems to me that Holiday Thanksgiving is giving more attention than Christmas. What is Holiday Thanksgiving? This is just out of curiosity. :-)

>>Hi Jess,

>>When people (called Pligrims) first started coming to the US from Europe in the 1600s, they had a feast to celebrate the harvest of their crops. This day of giving thanks still continues today. It is celebrated the fourth Thursday of November. People generally get together with friends and family. The traditional meal is turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, yams, and pumpkin pie. It isn't bigger than Christmas, but kicks off the Christmas season.

>So not one week of celebration. It's a non-working holiday?

Yes, that Thursday in November is a National Holiday. Although, some businesses will remain open.
