What out of memory "crash" are you getting - a VFP error message, a GPF, or what?

Do you have enough space on the SWAP drive to let Win allocate as much as it may need?

Though not really a memory problem, you may find it advantageous to PACK the table with the memo file periodically, especially if you often replace/update the content of the memo field(s) frequently.
