If there are problems with missing tags or fields in the DBC, this won't help. The table can't be used until the dbc is fixed.

Mario- VALIDATE DATABASE RECOVER doesn't do anything that you can't do programmatically, but it will take some work. You'll have to open the dbc as a table, SCAN it, and verify the existence of each element of each table and view. If the element doesn't really exist, you can delete the record from the dbc. Be careful here, and definitely make backups of your data, because you WILL hose it while getting your routine right.
