Unless I am mistaken, to quote one of Microsoft's lines, "This behaviour is by design." In other words, under the Windows model, it is by the user's choice, rather than programmer's, that the font for menus is determined.

There may be ways to force the issue, but I find myself more comfortable letting the user determine the cosmetics of the application.
