Can't type today. The last paragraph should start: "While he does not specifically say that Rushmore is in the engine, he does not say that it isn't either."

>Sorry it took so long to reply Erik, but it took awhile to find the reference I originally read that led me to believe that Rushmore is in the VFP ODBC driver.
>
>In general I would agree, especially if it were only for the general xBase ODBC driver. But the VFP driver is more powerful. When Ron Talmage did the chapter on Creating a Visual FoxPro Database in Rod Paddock's Visual FoxPro 6.0 Enterprise Development book he said on page 403: "Fortunately, the relational database engine is completely available in the ODBC driver. Missing from the VFP ODBC driver are interactive command-window commands, screen-messaging commands, and object-oriented constructs."

>While he does specially say that Rushmore is in the engine, he does say it isn't either. So unless I can find a reference somewhere else, I'm going to continue to assume that Rushmore is in the engine of the VFP ODBC drivers.

>>> As long as your expressions are optimizeable by Rushmore, ADO will use the indexes on the backend to retrieve the data.

>>Unless something has changed (it could have), I don't think the VFP ODBC driver uses Rushmore.
