I've been working with the MSComm control for a few weeks now to communicate with a meter's serial port. The meter sends text strings to my serial port and I send text commands to it's serial port.

My question is I've been told using the OnComm event to respond to events is not reliable in VFP but I've been doing it successfully for some time now. I thought VFP didn't raise ActiveX events. Am I mistaken. If not why is this working?

Someone please clarify.
