It is exactly what I have tried and it does not work. I have write another sp doing dynamic sql to execute revoke statement and it is working fine.

I think that the problem comes by the fact that there is a new table for permission in SQL 7.0 (syspermissions). I don't know what is role is. I read the Transact-SQL help and it says that it contains permissions for user and roles. Why there is two table doing the same job... compatibility thing maybe.
