You'll need to purchase a barcode font at a minimum if you're using ReportWriter to create your output. You'll need to install the barcode font on each target machine to ensure that it's available. And obviously, you'll have to change the forms to use the barcode font as required.

If you need to use the barcode in situations where the output will be used by someone other than an in-house resource, especially in the shipping industry, it's very probable that you'll have to meet rather stringent compliance testing requirement. The presense of a barcode on a document does not guarentee that the people at the other end will accept it.
