>Hi All,
>I'm upgrading my NT 3.5 to NT 4. I know the upgrade will ask for my previous setup disc which I think I have (the disc I have here says Windows NT Workstation - Operating System V 3.5, is this the right disc?). Does anybody know if the upgrade will ask for any more information such as previous CD code etc. I'm only asking since my computer used to belong to my company and I have to hunt around for all the old software discs. And since my company is in London and the computer is now in Macclesfield (3 hour journey), I'd like to know if I'm missing anything before I set off :)

Actually, if you're installing NT Workstation 4.0 over an existing 3.51 install, it won't ask you; it'll be able to see the 3.51 install on the hard drive and upgrade from there. If you're tryingto install on a different hard drive that does not contain 3.51, it may ask - I haven't tried that procedure.

You'd best ensure that you have current driver disks for any devices on the NT system that are not part of the MS distribution, and you'll need to install at least SP3 - the current SP level is 6 - after the base upgrade, since the NT WS distribution is either the original NT ws distribution or SP1. You can download the service packs from MS (they're big - around 34-35MB) or you can get them for a nominal charge on CD from Microsoft.
