First, you can try re-indexing everything, that was the old ISO error, a corrupt index. But, also, what is your OS?

There is a new type of Invalid Seek Offset that is generated by something entirely different, and even MS apparently still does not know what causes it. I had it when I moved to NTWS. I reinstalled NT 3 times, and finally got rid of it on the 3rd time. vfp5 cannot trap it - vfp6, can, however, but it may not help much, since the lines of code were fairly random.
