Dan, we are running Netware 4.11 successfully with VFP 5.0 with up to 40 workstations sharing files.

We had quite a bit of trouble when we first went live. The two most important things we have done is:

1) Made sure that all workstations are running Novell Client 32 version 3.1.0.0.

The MS Client for Netware also works fine but you may prefer the Novell client. In one case we increased the speed by a factor of 50 on a Pentium III with 128K and Win 98 by using the MS Client. Some kind of memory leak with the Novell Client; it would just get slower and slower. But we've only seen this on the one box. Also there was no problem in replacing the Novell Client with the MS Client.

2) We don't use any HP printer drivers later than the Laserjet III with VFP.

Also watch out for old, slow workstations.
