Hi Alan,
I've checked the article at Fox Talk November and, like the author, he couldn't believe Crystal reports didn't accept native fox tables. He tried everything to avoid ODBC, since he thinks is a little difficult to explain to users. So, he found this:
1. COPY TO fox tables to FOX2X format; (and Crystal could open directly, already);
USE
COPY TO TYPE FOX2X
2. Check out if the conversion has "ate" anything (the author thinks it doesn't, but a check to the help files is adviced by him);
The only problem is if Microsoft removes, one day, FOX2X backward compatibility.
Hope it helped.
Say something.
Ricardo
