I've switched to developing data objects classes rather than using the data environment designer and writing data manipulation code in form methods. I'm creating subclasses of the cursor object and dataenvironment object and adding PEMS to handle all my data manipulation tasks. In my opinion, this is the best way to write a data driven application. Once you designed your database, you then create your data classes. When it comes to designing your forms, you need very little code. There are some good examples in 'Effective Techniques for Application Development in VFP6.0' by Jim Booth and Steve Sawyer.
