Maybe if you set the initial value like you say. I don't set the initial value for the date and the user don't want to enter the slashes or dashes. At this point I have to use an input mask. an InputMask of 99/99/99 does'nt let you enter a century.
{ / / } lets me enter the century if I want to enter it. I would say that it works with all date formats because I just tested it with dates in the following formats: DMY and YMD and it worked well.
