I just noticed that when I rename tables in SDT Explorer that only the table name in the DBC is changing, and the underlying file is not being renamed. Is this by design?

If so, is there a way that I can rename the underlying file? Or, do I have to do that with Windows Explorer? But, that will mess up the DBC? Is there a way I can rename all the files to the table names easily with SDT or the classes?
