Permit me a mindless rant...

My bookstore client here in Atlanta has been waiting for 6 weeks now for the installation of a SDSL line arranged by Verio as a broker for Northpoint. The salesperson evidently was incompetent and sat on the paperwork forever, and finally when we got some higher-ups going on it, found out that they can't do it anytime soon, due to BellSouth not having any available ports.

We've escalated this up the ladder at BellSouth, and also got Verio and Northpoint people involved -- only to get a final word today that it's no-go. I can't believe the incompetence of the salesperson, and the unbelievable awkwardness of this entire deal.

Of course, the high-speed line at a reasonable rate ($200/month for 415K in-out) is the key to the Web-based rewrite of their system that we discussed in the 70-155 study group, and that is due up and running by the end of this month.

SO... Who has some viable options for a reasonable high-speed line here in Atlanta with a dedicated IP address? We are not ready to put the entire system out on an ISP web host right now, since we will need access to the large datafiles (800+ megs) in-house from another app. So the incoming line is essential. Ideas?
