I worked with some guys who did this, so here is a baked answer:

You need to get a font, and then you just "print" a string of sequential chars in that font. the chars represent blocks of the signature. so ABC in "Signature font" becomes the first, second and third parts of the signature. I think you will see ABC on the screen, because the "Font" doesn't know what is in the cartridge.
