http://www.convergence.org/news/misc.html30 Apr 1999 Sun blames MS as Java ISO plans die
Sun's plans to submit its Java language for standardization via the International Standards Organization are dead, according to Alan Baratz, president of Sun's Java Software division. Baratz said ISO recently changed the rules that would govern Java if it were to be made an ISO standard, he believes as a result of lobbying by "the Wintel alliance" and Microsoft in particular.
