OK, I did some testing and you are right. I opened several tables of different sizes over a 56K WAN and time to open varied from 10 seconds to about a minute. The size of the table did have some effect but the biggest effect seem to be from the number if indexes tags in the CDX.

Using one of the tags to do a SEEK of 25,000 records took 4 seconds (1000 times slower than on the 100MB LAN), but a LOCATE without using one of the TAGs took as long as downloading the table.
