Hi Terry,

I am replying to your posting as it is at the top of the thread, and this seemed the most appropriate way to introduce this article's link :)

Apparently MS is NOT dropping J++.

This was linked from slashdot: http://discuss.microsoft.com/SCRIPTS/WA-MSD.EXE?A2=ind9912a&L=java-com&F=&S=&P=6289

This letter signed, by Tony Goodhew, Visual Studio Product Manager, states that there was a mixup involving the Visual Studio Integrators Program (VSIP). Rational " would be producing a Java compiler that will run inside Visual Studio."

As is the case, everything is crystal clear here on the web ;) It will be interesting to see if this is really the case, or if they are just trying to plug a leak. I guess time will tell.

Later,
Bill
