If you're using Report Writer to create the labels, purchase an appropriate barcode font, and use that to create the barcode on the label. If you expect to produce reliable barcodes using a dot matrix printer, save yourself a lot of time and effort and go buy a barcode printer now; dot matrix printers will not reliably produce readable barcodes.
