Hmmm... It hard to stay ahead of technology. :)

I couldn't tell when the "First Java-specific chip takes life" article was written but I take it that it is quite recent.

Many years ago I worked on a Burroughs B5500 which had a stack-oriented hardware architecture (no general registers). Very elegant design.
