>I have a datetime field and I need to group the times into date ranges (i.e. 0900 to 1459, 1500 to 2259, 2300 to 0659). How would I extract the time only out so I can check which range it falls into?

tDateTimeVal - DTOT(TTOD(tDateTimeVal)) yields the seconds since midnight - compute your ranges based on the offset in seconds.
