Jim.....

>Equally important is the fact that he only ever otherwise pushes VB! what about your DELPHIs or PowerBuilders or dBases. Is it only MS products that "qualify" as possible "right tools for the jobs"???? Is it not equally reasonable to hire the skills for the "right tool for the job" (rather than having to learn it oneself)?????
>

We are all to familiar with you anti-MS sentiment. If it is not the docs, it is something else you are complaining about.. The fact is, most, if not all the time, MS tools are the right ones for the job....

>Finally, his objective is the promotion of self/rancor/bitterness and we really do not need that kind of crap around here.
<

More bitter than this statement, I don't think so...

>Remember, it was he who started that thread that drove you temporarily away, calling "basic members" freeloaders, calling Michel's business acumen a joke and calling Michel's technical skills into question and, all the while, blatantly promoting other alternative sites to UT. Yet he accused others of name-calling.
<

First off, I did not use the term Free-Loader. Jeff Pace and several others I believe went over the edge a bit and used this label. My argument dealt with the performance and how things are being managed. I have all the right in the world to lodge complaints where I think necessary. If you don't like it, fine. However, you will most likely benefit from it. And I doubt you will complain about that. Just don't put words in my mouth....As for questioning Michels management skills with this situation, sure, I did that, but I was not the only one. Then again, it is my right to do so. It is not something you need to concern yourself with. AND.... Michel does not need you running interference for him. As for alternative sites, you mean the wiki and www.foxforum.com? I can promote those. The UT gets mentioned over there, and nobody squashes that idea. Once again, I can post links from those areas here if I wan't. Nothing in the rules that says I cannot. If you don't like it, take it up with management...

>The nicest thing about this, though, is that I won't even get a reply for Mr. Wonderful about this, since he has left us for good (hallelujah!!!)! Oops - he has said that before and didn't follow through, so maybe his wrath *will* be visited upon me. I'd better hide right away.
>

Duck and cover, hiding, you are good at that.. I told you before I will not engage you in a flame war. The fact is, both you and Ed do everything to take what could be an interesting techncial argument, and turn the attention to other things. I don't really care. It is important to say it nonetheless.

>Garrett, many many tried to help him rehabilitate his image after his previous tirade, even telling him most often that he was 'right again' and thanking him for his valuable contributions and otherwise gushing all over him (it was on the verge of making me puke). Yet he was back to his old self in no time.
>

First off, I have no rehabilitation to go through. My image is just fine. If you don't like me, fine. Don't extrapolate to everyone else. Count the number of posts asking me to stick around. So, while I will not post as much, I will not leave. And, I will still keep folks honest with respect to the technical merits of a post. If you don't like it, complain to management, it is your right, and I do not begrudge that....

>We will be lucky if he keeps his word this time. Peace on earth (and UT) is a good thing for the holidays.

Peace to you....
