>Now that I have begun to skim the suface on Private Data Sessions, I have a basic questions -

If you have a form that you run twice and they are set to Default DataSession, moving the record pointer in one form, moves it in another. If they are set to Prviate, moving the record pointer in one form moves it in that instance of the form's own datasession, completely different from the other form. That means the second instance of the same form has yet a different session, and the record pointer is untouched.

Multiple datasessions are very valuable to Database apps with intricate lookup forms and DE forms.
