Don't let Sun's "Write once, run anywhere" mantra fool you. As one person recently told me, "Write once, debug everywhere". I don't know that much about Java, but I recently read that Java purists...and several companies who have signed Sun's Java agreement are extrememly upset. Seems that Sun recently signed agreements with some companies to allow them to have a proprietary Java. One of those will be on the Palm.
