Have a form that is set for Optimistic Table Buffering, and have six views, each view uses the option 5-Optimistic. I manually opened each view, appended blank, filled in a few fields from memory variables (gather memvar memo) and did a 'tableupdate' after selecting each view. The first view is the primary table, the others are child tables (1 to many). it worked fine. in the form, it is not updating the child views after the text boxes are filled in. in each text box I do a thisform.mypageframe1.page1.txtField.refresh() in the lostfocus. my save button does the tableupdating by first selecting the primary view and if successful, goes to the next. It never makes it to the second tableupdate, but it does in fact update the first table. Can someone tell me In Plain English the basic steps of adding a blank record to related views, filling in the form, and updating the tables. I'm sort of desperate. (P.S. as a desperate measure for one pageframe of textboxes, I copied the value of the textboxes to m.___ (memory variables) and did a gather memvar memo the way I did it manually and it worked. I surely do not want to have to do that (?)
